Default Just moved to Texas and have some ?'s

Hello everyone...I just moved to Flower Mound and finally getting settled in from unpacking boxes and stuff. I need to get back to racing and hope you locals can help me out.

Ok, first thing I guess I need to do is get my cars "inspected" right?

My question's are:

Will a 5 point harness pass inspection or does it need to be the OEM seat belt?

One of my cars is a 1967 Camaro (drag race car) with a 1300hp blown big block. Is there any chance this car will pass inspection?

Another car I have is a 1998 Camaro Z28 (Road Race car) that has a heads, cam, intake, etc. Is there a smog law here?

Is there a website that states all of the rules and guidelines my car needs to follow to pass?

On a different subject:

My 98 Camaro's trans (6 speed) is acting up and I need to get it checked out. Who in my area can I TRUST to wrench on my car? I normally do my own work...but until my new workshop gets built and my lift is installed, I'm going to have to depend on someone else. I also need headers installed on this car and a retune after that.

A list of local "F-body" shops would be great!

Finally, where does everyone get together at? Also, would any of you "Road Racers" shoot me a PM and let me know where to find the HPDE events and stuff please? Once I get my clutch fixed...I need to go!

I know that is a ton of requests...I appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Robert

i can answer a couple of your questions.
are inspection laws are not as bad as california's so
1. yes a 5 point harness will pass inspection.
2. any vehicle older than 25 years old is considered "antique or classic" so all you need for the 67 camaro is working headlights and tails lights, turn signals, horn and a working e brake! thats all i need to pass inspection in my 81 jeep.
3.as for your 98 roadracer if you have you smog crap on your fine. infact i think you will be the only guy in texas with it! if you dont have smog stuff on you can come across some places you can slide them 50 bucks and they will turn there heads and say ok
4.there are some good shops in dallas (look at the sponsers list)but if you want you can come down to houston and there are some of the best shops in the world down here!

Good choice on Flower Mound! Nice "smallish" community to live in.

What do you do for a living?
