im looking to purchase a new digital camera. just wanted to see what yall recommend. thanks

what is your budget? What are your plans for it, nice pro-quality shots or just a simple point-n-shoot?

Get something with a rechargeable battery. Also consider a film card adaptor to connect your memory card to the computer so the battery doesn't get drained for your camera to upload.

Hands down the Sony DSC-T200. Picked one up a while back and LOVE it. I shoot SLR with the Nikon line of cameras, and have just as much fun with my point and shoot Sony. They rock!

I personally like the Canon line Ive been happy with my 5 year old A70 and like the menus. This being said Ive been looking at possibly the SD950 IS from Canon. Looks like a good camera. Ive been looking around on www.cnet.com and also www.consumerreports.com for reviews.
