Default ? for all you electronics gurus

Still got an old school Sony flat screen. It's a 53" about 4-5 years old.It isn't an hd,plasma or lcd.Just a basic flatscreen.Anyway I came home today, turned it on and the pic was really outta focus with alot of red discoloration.I tried everything I know and was wanting ya'lls opinion.Being that Christmas was just last week I don't really want to buy a new one but I will if I have to.This **** always happens at the wrong time!

Not sure what's wrong with it but maybe call a tv repair shop and see if they can fix it. Might be cheaper to fix than buy by a new one.

Good luck

check your owners manual. There should be a convergence option, and you can try and get all of the colors re-aligned, if that doesnt work, i had mine fixed a little over a year ago, and it was about $300 if i remember correctly. Definetly check out the convergence first though, it should help some. (This is all assuming its a rear projection TV). But, it might be better to go get a new one with HDTV and all that good stuff, if you have the money.
