you always receive the money right away and yes you have to confirm the two small deposits. if somebody sends you an e-check then it takes 2-3 days for it to clear. when you deposit into your account, it takes 2-3 days again.

You have to have a bank account on file to transfer funds from your Paypal account to your bank account. In order to confirm your bank account, Paypal makes 2 small deposits into your bank account, in which those amounts are your verification. I believe now Paypal has a new way to verify your account by giving them your login information.
It takes 2-3 business days before the funds from your Paypal account to transfer to your bank account.
e-Check take 3-5 business days to clear and then you must transfer it to your bank account which takes an additional 2-3 days.
Tip: If you don't want fees and charges for incoming payments, never upgrade to a premiere or business account. I think the rate is 4.9% + .30 cents on every incoming payment you receive. This is a must though for credit card payments. That is why I have always kept a regular personal account and have only accepted e-Checks or instant transfers.
