Best place to buy a torque wrench.
I need to finally break down and buy a torque wrench. Nothing fancy, just something to get the job done. Does anyone have any recommendations without breaking the bank?

I have 3 click types my fisrst is a Craftsman have had for 10 or more years had it checked a few times always in spec. The 2nd is a Armstong has a 100 lb more than the craftsman a very nice tool no plastic all metal and the cost refects that. 3rd 3/8 drive proto got it to do anything under 30 lbs or so it does alot better because i cant hear or feal the clicks of the biger ones .you think i will never use the small one but shaft mounted rockers timing belt set ups it all need s to be torqued i would recomend any of them . If the craftsman is the same as the old for the price not sure if you could beat it

My father and i both picked up 2 from there just to keep around for lug nuts. We knew they wouldn't last forever and might be a little off but were still hopeful. I was going to check the calibration on them anyway.
His lasted one go around and wouldn't adjust anymore and i took mine to work and pull checked it, it was 20ft lbs off. We both knew they were cheap, just not THAT cheap.
My suggestion is this, if it's critical enough that you wan't to properly torque it instead of using the "feels tight enough" method, then it's critical enough to spend the extra $ for safety.
Those $15 Harbor Freight torque wrenches are crap!
