The old timers also said that with a beam style, once you reached your torque value you could hold the wrench in that position and watch the torque decrease as the fastener settled into place. Then bring it back to its correct value.

I've always used clickers though.

But they will not warranty them if they fall out of calibration.(being that it is a wearable knuckle or a spring that wears out) But if it breaks as per say any other craftsman might break you can force the issue and get them replaced. Did it a bunch for the Air Force. If you drop it..which I know you will, it will be out of spec, 9 times out of 10.
One of those damn PMEL guys...

So now I have two Husky torque wrenches that seem to work good. $50 each from Home Depot.

I'd guess that Snap On is among the best though.
The 3/8 Husky @ Home Depot is 74.97,the 1/2 is 79.97.

I have a couple Snap-On's at home. At work we have Craftsmans that get a lot of abuse. I had my Snaps calibrated but Craftsmans never. Funny, cause shouldnt it be the other way around? Make sure you dial the torque down when storing em so the springs dont get stretched. This will help keep them accurate.

Ill toss my .02 in even though the thread is 7 yrs old. I use Snap on click type wrenches daily. I could never stand teh tech wrenches that beep or vibrate. Ive had my 1/2 drive for over 6 years now, try to have it calibrated once a year.

I just bought two torque wrenches.

1. Craftsman 1/2" Beam torque wrench 20-150 I think
2. Craftsman 3/8" inch pound clicker.

Figure i will have the best of both worlds. 3/8 to 1/2, inch pound to foot pound, and quick to accurate.

Which type torque wrench is the best to buy at 2017? Any idea about Tekton wrench? I am not finding enough information that who made quality wrench. Although, I have found some good quality torque wrench from this website find from search result. But, i want to hear some feedback from experience people. My budget is hundred bucks and I guess i will able to acquire good torque wrench at that price.
