The 'New Posts' function has been disabled for several weeks...

Any word on if you guys are going to bring this back? I know it sucks up bandwidth but how much bandwidth is it saving you? It is such a nice and convenient feature.

It's more a matter of the server processing resources than the bandwidth - iirc the site already uses nearly a terabyte of bandwidth each month, so what's a few more page views on that However, for the 'New Posts' section in particular to work, I think new posts have to be constantly indexed as they are made, and Brains currently has things configured so that the search index is only updated once a day around 5am to make things run more efficiently.

True, true...I just stated bandwidth to be short. I'm familiar with the processes involved. I like the feature, plain and simple. No exhaustive searching through this forum and that forum looking through a few dozens posts. You just click...and BAM. There are all the new posts.

Then again, I'm just lazy. ...either that or I like to be efficient.
