Default FS: '01 Pewter Formula Firehawk 6spd Hard-top 19k miles Garage Queen with mild mods.

SOLD!!! Dec-19-09

Well, I thought I was going to keep this car forever. However I find myself not enjoying it as much as I used to and I'm looking on to other opportunities. I'd love to see a collector or like minded enthusiast enjoy it now. I'm in no rush to sell, hence why the high asking price. Please no low-ball offers. I will NOT part out this car.

*Asking Price: $14,999!!! No Trades!
*Vehicle City & State: Tulsa, Oklahoma
*Vehicle Make, Model, Year: 2001 Pontiac Firebird Formula Firehawk (1 of 3 for 2001), SLP #352
*Actual Mileage: 19,0xx
*Title: Clean
*Transmission Type: Manual 6speed
*Body Color: Light Pewter Metallic
*Interior Type and Color: Grey Cloth, w/ single disc CD, power locks/windows, manual seats.

History
Car was purchased in September 2002 in North Michigan. The previous owner kept it under a Firehawk Cover (included) in a car port and had another vehicle as his daily driver. I'm assuming it didn't see much if any rain/snow before I purchased it.

Was purchased @ 11k miles, then took 1k miles to drive back to Oklahoma. The car now has 19k miles.

Previous owner had it serviced at garages for any work needed (fluids, etc). However this brings up one issue with the car. The shop that changed the oil lifted the front by the fenders which produces the notorious bent fender tab issue. Before I took purchase of the car, the GM dealership in Saginaw Michigan replaced both front fenders and re-sprayed the front of the car. They did a very good job at matching though. Also the windshield was replaced before I took purchase because there was a crack in it.

This has been my weekend toy car and has been garaged ever since I brought it home. It's seen rain maaaaybe 5 times, and has never seen snow. I've taken the car down the 1/4 mile probably 20 times and around the auto-cross probably 20 times as well.

Body
Other than the front fender work, the car has been in no accidents or any other re-paint work. No major dings/scratches are on the exterior. Was always parked out in BFE if I had to take it somewhere, and even then it was only for a short period (ie never left at a movie parking lot).

I've put probably 10 coats of Zaino on her, the last one a year ago. It's probably a good time to put on another coat though.

Body modifications include:
-5% Tint on all 3 windows
-Removed the rear "Firebird"/Phoenix from the filler plate on the trunk
-Clear Corners front and rear with red/amber LEDs
-Removed side molding, which brings up another issue: When the car was re-sprayed, the dealership did NOT remove the molding, so there is a slight color variation were the molding used to be.
-MBA Phoenix Head Plate (in the engine compartment)
-Polished front brake calipers / Painted gloss-black brake brackets.

Interior
Interior is in great condition except for BOTH door panels should be replaced. Thanks a lot GM (this is a known issues with Firebird panels). Passenger panel is completely cracked, Driver side is starting to crack in two places. I've only used a watered down rag to clean the interior, no product were used to my knowledge.

Interior modifications include:
-JL Stealth Subwoofer box w/ JL 10W3D2 (version 1)
-Kenwood PS200T amplifier (the rear seat speakers (the factory subs) were removed to facilitate the wiring of the amplifier.)
-Pro 5.0 Short Shifter
-Lou's Short Shift Stick
-MBA "Phoenix" shift ball (wide/tall version)
-Aftermarket Alarm w/ keyless entry added

Drive train
From the SLP factory with the SLP Dual-Dual exhaust system.

The previous owner added the SLP Air Intake and the 1-4 skip shift eliminator.

Since then I have added the following:
Jet Hot Long Tube Headers w/ their Jet Hot Y-Pipe (no cats). I've had the car dyno'd and it produced 332.3rwhp 348.9tq SAE

Battery was replaced last fall, has been on a tender ever since.

Suspension
This is the main area I modified. I've spent over $2k in suspension modes and almost another $2k on wheels/tires.

Follow this thread where I write up my suspension mods (w/ more pics): http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...threadid=44564

To recap though, here are the following suspension modifications:
-G2 Tubular poly/rod Lower Control Arms
-BMR Bolt on Relocation Brackets (that were also welded in)
-G2 Tubular Adjustable poly/rod pan-hard bar
-G2 Tubular Subframe Connectors (welded in)
-Koni Yellows (single adjustable) shocks
-Eibach Pro-kit springs
-Suspension Techniques 35mm front sway bar w/ Energy Suspension end links.

I acquired some RARE OEM Grand Sport wheels (with factory Japan castings). These have the deep dish rear center unlike the (IMO) cheap knock offs. They were tracked though so they had a ton of scratches. I had the wheels re-finished at Fix Rim in Dallas. I then had them wrapped in Nitto 555R (Street drag radial) 315/35/17 in back and Nitto 555RII (Street auto-cross) 275/40/17 up front. I added on black Gorilla lugs. I still haven't gotten around to finding center caps though. The car has gone MAYBE 50 miles since the tires/wheels were added.

Things that need fixed, i.e. if I were to keep it
- Find some black matching center caps for the wheels
- There may be a driver side exhaust leak where the header meets the y-pipe. This also may be just rasp
- Replace both door panels
- Add black "Firehawk" stickers to doors/bumper, I have them somewhere, just never put them on.
- Re-spray the exterior door panels
- 4.10 gears to combat the loss of low-end torque when the headers were added
- O2 simulators to fix the Service Engine Soon light from tripping.
- Replace the center console, there are scratches in it mainly from the seat belt mechanism, it's a minor issue, but it bugs me.
- The clutch pedal return spring broke (known issue w/ these cars).
- In the process of diagnosing clutch spring issue I took the lower knee bolster off and it was subsequently broken (a friend dropped it and it broke one of the tabs off).

Additional things included with the sale
-2 Firehawk Keyfobs
-Firehawk car cover
-Firehawk window sticker/manual
-Firehawk side/rear black stickers
-All the stock parts I can find (if you want them).
-I still have the stock 5-spoke silver painted Firehawk wheels. Rubber needs replacing though. $500 for the wheels (I will not part with these until the buyer of the car has decided on them or not).
-2 Pure one oil filters

Leather makes you sweat and freeze in the winter

GM= Cheap shitty *** fake leather

Now real leather on expensive cars isnt bad, and you can always swap in leather if you wanted.......

Slick, yes I still have the side molding , as well as the shocks, springs, LCAs, PHB, shifter, headers, air intake, um... I think that's it?!?

The interior panels crack because of a design flaw by GM If new panels were to be put in, they'd need to be reinforced so it doesn't happen again.
