WTB: 1999+ GrandAm (4cyl) in OH
I'm looking to buy a 1999+ GrandAm as my second vehicle, though I'm not having much luck (either due to price, location, or mechanical defects in the car). Here's exactly what I want/need:
1999+ Pontiac GrandAm (or similar)
automatic trans
4 cyl (no V6 on the GrandAm please, heads prone to cracking)
cloth seats
working heater, wipers, rear defroster
overall in good mechanical shape
A/C, power windows/locks, ect would be nice, but not a necesity
High mileage vehicles are OK (less than 180k please) so long as it still runs good.
I'm looking to stay around $2000. Would also like to stay as close to Dayton, Ohio as possible. If you are near Marietta, OH or Crossville, TN we can also talk. If you are asking a higher price, or live further away, don't be shy! If its a great deal I'll be willing to fly/drive further and/or pay more.
This vehicle will serve as my second means of transportation and sole winter driver, so good tires are a must. If you have anything, or know of anything, let me know!

TTT!
Finding a similar car that gets good gas mileage is a priority now. If you have something similar to a GrandAm, let me know. I'd be searching for a Civic, but I hear they are a little too light in the snow. The 96 GrandAm I had previously did very well in the snow.

Bump!
Test drove a 2000 GrandAm today, and *loved* it. They were asking $6000 though... way too much for me right now. I'm sure someone here knows of something cheaper?

Bump for the day. Gotta be something out there. Though looking at the local newspapers and browsing the local car lots, there may *not* be anything out there right now.
May let this thread die for now, and resurrect it in a month or so if no replies.
