Default I was smoked by a E55 AMG !

I was driving home and a E55 started screwing with me so I punched it and hit 120 he flew by me at 140+. One big thing I was driving the Impala SS wishing I had my vette. The Impala felt really good for a sedan at high speed and was pretty impressed. I guess the top speed is 154.

Meh . . . . . .

I know they're faster than the 94-96 Impala SS, but I'd still rather have one of those. As for the Benz, those things are no joke, they run mid-low 12's factory stock.

I owned a 1995 Impala SS and a 1996 Impala SS both were nice cars but my wife hated them. This Impala she likes and at least it is a LSxx block. FWD is kinda crazy with this much power.

ive never been as scared as when one a friend of mine took me out in his S R T-4 Neon that had a 70-76 ?mm turbo on it, the torque steer when that thing spooled up was just insane. an E55 is about the only MB car id own, one of my favorite vids was a 05 e55 vs a 03 cobra with a 2.2 KB, the E55 just ate it. those things have 492 or so hp and 5XX torque so id def not feel bad losing to one

99-02 E55s are about the same price as mint condition C5s now. If I can't get a Corvette or LS1 F-body I'll look into E55s, 01-02 M5 or BMW 840Ci's or an 850CSi. Those cars haul *** while having working air conditioning and power seats.

All those euro cars are nice but parts are more limited and expensive.

Yeah and as we saw at Irvine most of the owners around here are in their 20s, in one "scene" or another, and spoiled. I'd still drive one though just cause I love how they accelerate quick and then cruise at high speeds easily... Stock.

Id take a 94---96 Impala over the new ones any day of the week

when they came out they got more looks then a viper did. My father use to own back in the day 1996 impla black brand new at the time. I cant tell you how many people would just stair at it not knowing what it is.. rolling up to lights people asking to roll down the windows and ask questions.

Not to mention RWD...... not this pansey *** front wheel drive 303 hp.. granit it maybe faster but its no class compared to the 94-96

Yeah I've had a 1995 and 1996 Impala SS RWD and they are nice it cars. The main attention I got when driving them was people thought I was a cop so maybe thats the thing compared to a Viper.

The things I do like about new Impala
1. Better MPG you can crank out 28mpg+ on hwy
2. Lighter and more nimble
3. People laugh when you lay 50ft of rubber with the front wheels
4. Ls4 motor which IMO is ten times better then the LT1. I've had several Lt's and the LSX's are easier to mod and work on.
5. My wife likes this one and will drive it.
6. Cleaner interior lay out
7. 18 inch wheels

Old Impala +'s
1. Good for back seat hanky panky.Ton's of room
2. People thought you were a cop and moved out of your way on the freeway
3. RWD
4. Great looking
5. Never pulled over I guess cops like them

For me this car is my daily driver to and it's still a bunch of fun. I was impressed and 120mph and it felt a lot better them my 1996 at that speed.

It was funny I toasted a bunch of ricers with my wife and kid in the car today. One of them a RSX type S.

My mom's got an 06 Impala SS and yes, they're rocks on the highway. Not very fast up there though, they kinda lose their kick after 60ish but still go okay. Nice cars to drive around though. Would definitely be a fun race in the vette. E55's are no joke.

Edit: saw ur sig... would've been an easy race vs the E55 but fun none the less.
