It all depends on you. For me I an a4-m6 swap back when I had my 01 and absolutly LOVED it, ever since then I will never buy another auto sports car. I did a a4-m5 swap on my 89 and feel the exact same way, it all depends on how much you like manual trans, first drive a stick and see what you think then determine wheather its worth it or not.

my last car was a 98 transam ttop 6 speed i loved the car had few mods but just a fun car it got wrecked some idiont ran a light and tboned it.
my transam i own now is a 99 a4 convertible with big stall cam and bolt ons car is quick but just seems to get kinda boring on the street thinking 6 speed swap or maybe putting it back to stock and selling it or maybe tradding it for a 6 speed ttop car

This subject has been beat to the ground for ages, but honestly it all depends on preference. Both can be fun to drive, both have their ups and downs, and because of that I personally wont complain about having one or the other. BUT, if I am given the choice, I will always take the manual cars hands down. Its in my blood, so ultimately it is what I prefer. Especially since im a believer that there's more to a car than just going fast in a straight line...
