Not sure how the car will run better. Not like it really hurts performance. It's just an extra 15lbs of dead weight, so that's like 1 horsepower gain? It hooks up to the exhaust to heat up the cats faster on cold starts so they work more efficiently. It doesn't re-route used air back into the engine like EGR does.

Yeah, but some states still have visual inspections and you would fail without it. So I guess the question is do they have strict visuals in CO? If the car is warmed up before a sniffer test the sniffer wouldn't detect the difference to fail you on.

You're good then. All the air pump is for is to get the cats to light off quicker on initial start up. If you drive the car there it will already be up to temp and have no effect on the reading.
