Ignition cylinder lock replacement anyone?

Default Ignition cylinder lock replacement anyone?

My security light is flashing and since I live in the hood I need to keep my vats. Anyone ever done this? My brother in law and I are going to tackle this if anyone with expierence wants to come up and supervise/help I will pay 60 bucks and all the beer you can drink.location is Montclair CA
Btw the car is a 2002 z28 a4 vert

Before you try this, run a resistor of the same value to the connecter under the steering column. I'd hate to see you do all that work and have the same problem.

Ok I will try that. what causes the security light to flash?

Could be:
Key to cylinder pin connection
wire from ignition cylinder to connector under dash
BCM

If you decide on temporarily turning off your VATS, I have a 2002 Fbody HPTuners license and can do it for you.

I replaced the ignition cylinder sure enough one of the tiny wires was torn. Thanks for your help rocndav

if you come down I can turn off you vats for $20 in the computer

my buddy had a 2000 ss that was stolen due to the vats being disabled. I appreciate the offer but I fixed the ignition cylinder to keep my vats.
