Default sticking throttle cable!!

happened to me about 4-5 times today ill give the car about half maybe 3/4 throttle and it will stick and keep accellerating. scared the **** out of me. wtf is the deal? is there any adjustment in these throttle cables? if so how? it looks like the throttle cable isnt retracting all the way into the black plastic cable cover that clips onto the throttle cable bracket. i tried lubing it with some wd40 . no luck

did you clean the inside where the blade closes cuz that's where the crap builds up.

motorcycle shops sell cable lube.. pull off the cable "end" and spray some in there from both ends. play with it for a bit and see if it loosens up.. if it doesn't.. they are easy to get used.

disconnect the cable from the tb cam and pull it front and back to see if its in the cable system or the tb. most likely the tb tho, is your throttle body ported? check the star screws that hold the blade to the tb shaft

after lots of swearing and cut up hands i finally got it. was using a ex manifold to hold the pedal down while i was adjusting the cables but everytime id get the blade at 90 degrees id go remove the manifold and the blade wouldnt shut all the way. luckily my wife came outside. i asked her to hold it down for me. BAMM first try perfect. also noticed one thing too. my throttle blade was only opening about 60 percent max. so now its damn near perfect. should feel a nice difference huh. i couldnt believe that it was only opening that far.

I think I have a similar, but opposite, issue. Every once in awhile, I FLOOR my pedal and the car does NOTHING. Just keeps the same speed before I floor it...

I used to think it was tranny or programming but if the TB is actually opening the car would rev up regardless of tranny or programming so now I think it may be cable/TB related...
