Default 01 Z28 What's would you pay?

Alright. So I went to look at an 01 Z28 over the weekend since my brother is considering getting one. I was looking to see what you guys would offer.

The car is originally from Nevada. Due to the lack of interest the car was driven out here to california to sell it in a larger market. The car is owned by one owner which turns out to be a now 56 year old woman. Her son is selling it for her out here in CA. She is selling it because it was getting hard for her to get out of the car at her age. Someone offered $6,500 and they declined that offer.

It ran and sounded good.

It is completely stock and it has:
87K miles
Automatic
T tops
Cloth interior
ASR traction button on the dash

It does have a couple of issues.
The security light is on.
The SRS airbag light is on.
It is in need of a new set of tires.

I don't have a photo of the car but the body was clean from any dents or scratches. It is arctic white.

Good condition is $8000 but it needs tires so I'd offer about $7000 and maybe go up to $7200 if they decline.

6500 sounds pretty fair to me. I'd go no higher than 7. My car had about same mileage, leather, ttops, and brand new tires and I gave 6.5k

Those 'lights' can mean expensive repairs, especially if a mechanic is needed to do the work. That must be ascertained first before even thinking of a price. Throwing numbers out there on a car with mystery repairs needed makes no sense. Did the Carfax show up as a true one owner with no negatives?? That would be a start anyway if you wanted to go any further before finding out what is needed mechanically.

My brother and I were talking about it and he is going to pass and keep looking. Plus he is in the process of getting a house.

They turned down $6500? The market isn't what it used to be...they should have taken that offer. I doubt that car would pull 7K in the Chicago market. I can't tell you what it would get in Cali
