2005 cts v
A good friend of mine is trying to sell his CTS V.
Nothing wrong with the car, but just not sure how much to price it at.
It is currently on craigslist for sale here:

Any CTS V fanatics on here that would be able to give a solid price estimate?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Book value on that car with 161k miles is under $10,000 and that is how much a bank would be willing to lend on it. Then you have to consider the market and what cars he will be selling against, which is going to make that a tough sell. Realistically, I am thinking closer to book value.

I could see asking a little more if you would have replaced the engine with a brand new one and at least freshened up the transmission but I certainly would not even consider picking yours over one of those and honestly I would not pick yours at $10,000. Think if it this way: put 40,000 miles on your car and it will be over 200k while that same 40,000 will put those other cars at just over 100k. That is a whole lot less wear and tear and less likelihood that something else major will fail, like the transmission. It sucks but that is how I would approach it as a potential buyer and I am sure that others would do the same.
