Default Tire Guestion???

hey guys i have a 97 ss with 17x9.5 zo6 rims all around... I believe the tire size on them is 275/40/17... my guestion is a dont like how much rear wheel well i have the front looks fine but the back looks high... i want to do a set of dr's what size tire would you recommend that has more sidewall to it???... i live i NY so i dont want to lower my car cause of my LTs they scrape already and also can you post pics of them on the car please thanks fellas

To answer your "Question"... Unless your doing some offroading I would leave it be. Why not just lower the rear a tad?

Try the "hose mod" in the rear.

The best way to clear up that wheel well gap is to lower the car. To answer your question, you can run a 285/40-17 on the rear and this is an approved size for your current wheels. However, you will only be gaining just over .25" of height as well as width. There's also no DR available in this size.
