Michelin PS2
First, I tried the search! I can't believe there's not a thread on this yet but here goes.
I've got an '04 Z06, looking to replace the tires, was going to just go Goodyear F1 but a few people have been talking up the Michelin PS2. Anyone have first hand experience with this tire? Vs the F1 which is the better tire?
Thanks for any input.

Go with the Michelins. The Goodyears are okay, but they are heavier and they tend to loose their grip as they reach their 'wear bars'.
I had a modded 2001 Z06 (433/400 RW#s) that had PS2s (17/18 Z06 sizes) on it when I bought it. The fronts were about half-used-up, the rears were getting close to the 'wear bars'. The car performed and handled GREAT.
I decided to try some 18/19 C6 Z06 wheels and tires. The Goodyear tires were wider, newer with more tread, with slightly shorter sidewalls, than my C5Z's Michelin PS2s. However, I gained ZERO improvement in handling or traction. They looked awesome, but didn't perform any better (were actually worse in cooler weather) than the older, narrower PS2s on my stock Z06 wheels. I sold the 18/19s and went back to my old 17/18 PS2s. After a couple years, I recently sold the car with the very same tires that were on it when I bought it.
I am currently looking for 18/19s or 19/19s for my Formula, and will be hinging this plan exclusively on the availability of used/Ebay Michelin PS2s in the sizes I have chosen (265 or 275 fronts, 305 rears).
If you spend any time on the Corvette Forum, you will see strong favortism for the PS2s, with only their high price tag being the only complaint.
If your car is not excessively lowered, you could even jump up one size fr/rr (275/305) without too much hassle. Your Z06/wheels can easily accommodate tires wider than the stock 265/295 sizes.
