Default Nitto NT-01 tires

has anyone has these on their car? I have a friend that might buy some and we were wandering if they are really like a drag tire. supposedly the start at 6/32 of tread and after the first 2/32 wear off they are like a drag radial and only have two lines left so they're DOT legal. Are these good tires?

theyre not drag radials. theyre autox/road course tires. theyre a street legal r-compound. very stiff sidewalls, NOT for drag racing. there is more to racing then just a straight line you know. dont bother with them if all you do is drive on the street or drag race. get a real street tire or drag radial.

the 555r's hook better on the street than the track, and M/T e.t. streets hook better on the track than street.

thanks man but it's actually for a friend and he has a mach1 mustang. i doubt out tires will fit his car since the wheels and tires are so much narrower. the only 245-45-17 drag tires I could find were the nitto 555r's so far...

I have the NT01's , love them.. But like said above they are not a drag tire, comp R auto-x tire only.. I street drive on them but the car is rarely ever driven so they are fine for my use.

if u do the 275/40/17 in a 555r it should fit the mustang, they are much narrower than the regular 275/40s

I have these in a 315 on a 18" wheel. They seem to be really good tires. They have a lot of grip, but they are NOT a drag radial. I rarely try to take off hard from a dig so they good for me. Not bad in the rain either.

If you want straight line traction, get the M/T ET Radials. They hook awesome both street and at the track
