I hear they don't hook at all. You can't expect much for a street tire at that price. I'd say bad choice if you're putting them on your 383 awaiting a procharger. You might want to look at a DR.

Agreed^
for the money they are OK in the dry, bad in the wet, but you go through them pretty quick so they're are others that give better performance and last a little longer as well. Like the new HTR's and Toyo's etc...

thats not really that good of a deal. you can get the tires for 368 from tirerack.com
shipping is usually about 40 bucks.
anyway, ive run the HTR Zs before and i think they are a great bang for the buck, but id give one of the other sumitomo's with more grip a try. sumitomo is the best bang for the buck if you ask me. you could burn the crap outta them and not feel guilty...
try out the HTR Z III. 444+40=484, not bad for a tire with a 300 wear rating, AA traction and a Y speed rating....

HRTZ II= no traction at all. buddy had them on a ws6 that put down 350/358 thru an a4 and just giving it half throttle at 45 broke them loose. i'd say bad choice.
i have yoko es100's and cut a 2.0 60' on a 2500 sidestep, and would hook pretty well on the street. took alot to get them bald too.- i'd recomend these tires to anyone.
kid with the ws6 now has nitto 555zr's(the street tire) and loves them.

i just got the III's a couple weeks ago. for the price you are talking i would buy them over the II's. so far i am very happy with how they are on the street. i drive my car every day and had to keep tire life and weather in consideration.

The III's are like 180 a tire vs 119 for the II's. I am not looking for a tire that dead hooks, this is a highway, sunshine only car.

I have kumho's Ecsta Supras on right now. These Sumis rated better in a comparison done between them and a 3rd tire I can't remember.

Mainly a highway car that will do pulls here and there.
They should work just fine for that purpose.

Im runnin em right now, with HTR+ in the front. Cost $480 all around, and thats with 315s in the back! All in all, they are great beat-on tires. Hook well enough for 400hp on the highway imo

Just take it easy with them in the rain. They aren't very good in the wet. I never spun with them but My forte is steering with my right foot. Don't want to see you trying to save money on tires and get cought off guard with a spin/wreck.
Like I said O.K. in the dry but burn up quick. I went through 3 sets when they first came out as a slightly cheaper Dunlop (D40?) clone but as newer tire technologies emerged, I switched to slightly more expensive tires that perform better, especially in the wet, and last a lot longer saving me money in the long run!

don't want to hijack this but i have to ask... do the htr-z2's run a lot skinnier width wise than normal tires.... i ask this because im wanting to get the oe wheels 18x10.5 deep dish c5 wheels and i dont really have a lot of money left to spend on tires... and i was wondering if i could get by with putting 285/35/18s on it safely

Obviously the 285 is a little streched on the 10.5 wide wheel but it's fine. The guy I had mount my tires actually said the rear 285/35-18's went on easier than the front 275/40-17's.
