I'm going 1/2" on mine. My 12-bolt axles are tapped for 12mm and 1/2" studs.

I think if you tried go to 5/8" studs you'd need to drill your wheels, and I'm not sure you would find any lug nuts available that would fit.

I am currently using 1/2 20 3" studs on my TA with stock rims... using acorn style lug nuts

I have a brand new set of Summit Fast Five wheels (sumit stars) and am trying to find out what lug nut to used for them!
