Need Help - Drag Wheels for 3rd Gen
Alright guys,
So I need some help with 15" drag wheels for a 3rd gen. I plan on having some big meats out back, and this car will most likely be kept on the street. I don't know anything about offset or backspacing when it comes to wheels, so I need some help.
What size wheel should go for the front.. 4", 7", 8"? I would think 4" is too thin for highway/street driving? What about offset/BS?
And for the rear.. i'm guessing I should go 10"?
Btw I'll most likely be looking at Summit wheels as I'm not looking for lightweight functionality. Also could anyone recommend some tires?
Thanks in advance.

If it's being kept on the street then go with 8" on the front; skinny front wheels are designed for going faster in a straight line by reducing rotating mass and minimizing water being dragged ou of the burnout box. They suck donkey ***** for street use (turning and braking). 10" or 8" in the rear is pretty much a matter of personal preference, dependent on what tires you want to use.
No idea on backspacing, sorry.

Thank you Tommy! Good info to know. Basically I want some big, thickass tires out back, so it looks like it means business haha. Now I just have to figure out what all this offset and backspacing is about..
Most people'll probably ignore this thread since it's for a 3rd gen.

I just found some info on thirdgen.org.
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/or...eels-help.html
http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/su...-skinnies.html
And big tires out back will need a 10 inch wide wheel, you can go up to 315s or maybe even wider I believe.
