Default Do 285's on 17's look just as wide as 295's on 19's?

I was told by someone that 275's on 17's looked as wide as 295's on 19's. I currently have 295/30/19's on the rear of my car right now, and want new wheels. Someone told me that 275's on a 17" wheel will look just as wide as my 295 right now, so I assumed maybe a 285 on a 17 would look just as wide. Is this true?

No, a 275 on a 17, 18 ,or 19 inch wheel should all be very close to the same width, with all else be equal.

You'll have to remember the some model/brands of tires run narrow, and some run wide. So all tire aren't created equal.

Well right now I'm running Pirelli P-zero Rosso's. How wide are those known to be compared to other tires?

Thumbs up

I had those before in a 275/35/18s, they run narrow!
I believe the BFGs, and GoodYears run wide.
I've had Dunlops that ran wide.
