Default BFG KDW-2 any one else's make alot of noise???

After 2 years of summer driving on my new wheels/tires I have noticed that at around 35mph the tires make alot of noise and its getting pretty annoying. I have 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 on the rear and when they were new they were fine but its getting to loud for me lately. They only have about 8-10k miles on them

I've read that those tires are noisy as hell. If it wasn't for that, I might have bought a set. Just wear your orange safety ear muffs, that helps.

That is one of my concerns when looking for new rubber. I notice that in the past, tires start to get noisy around the 4-5 year mark. My tire guy says the rubber compound is getting hard at that point! My car is a garage queen and I end up with poor performing, noisy tires with full tread (almost) after 5 years. This time I'm going for a softer compound than stock so at least they LOOK worn when I toss them! Before mounting my next set, I want to see the bulid date so I can verify I'm getting FRESH rubber to get 5 years out of them. I have to see if Goodyear has a date code that is deciferable!

Now I wish I would have went with a different style of tire when I bought them, 2 years ago.

deelong4002: Ive got a borla cat-back with the open plate, and even with that and the radio cranked up I can still hear the tires. Prolly have to be open header to cover the sound up, haha.
