paint inside rims
I have an original set of Firehawk chrome rims that have some peeling going on in the inside of the rim. They are chrome so I can't just paint the whole wheel & I am unsure what exactly is on the inside (paint, chrome ??). Suggestions on how to get whatever is on there off and what to repaint or recoat it with?

Usually when you chrome a rim you have to chrome the whole thing. The inside of your wheel has to be chrome if the outside is chrome. It doesn't look the same because rarely do they spend much time prepping the surface (smoothing, sanding, polishing) on the inside before they chrome it. If you have issues with the chrome on the inside (cracking, blistering, peeling) then it will probably migrate to the outside of the wheel before long. Once chrome starts to go away, usually all you can do is: 1) live with it, or 2) strip it and rechrome or powdercoat, etc.
