Default Excessive road noise, and when I say excessive, I mean it!!

I'm not sure if this should be in this section or the suspension section.

Anyways, I'm currently running Sumitomo HTR Z III 285/35/18 tires in the rear and 275/35/18 tires in the front and have very bad, unbearable road noise I would like to reduce. The ride seems to be OK on smooth roads, but sounds like every tiny imperfection on the road transfers to the inside of the car on any road that isn't freshly paved. I've always thought that the slimmer 35 sidewalls is causing the problem since there isn't much space from the road to the rim, but wasn't sure if this was entirely accurate. Another thing I think I should mention is I'm running DMS lowering springs (1.5" drop) with (soon to be replaced) blown stock shocks.

Is anyone else here getting unbearable road noise with 35 sidewalls? Any suggestions on fixing this is welcomed.
