All Black ZR1s (No Pol Lip) Plasti Dip?
For one, does anyone make all black Zr1's without the polished lip?
And if not, Has anyone ever plasti dipped the polished lip on any black rim in this case? How did it turn out??
Thanks guys.

I seen a guy paint the lips white before. I'm sure you can have them powder coated. Never seen them come all black though.
I have a set of 17x9.5/11 ZR1's, black with the machined lip sitting in my garage. I am actually going a different route so I was going to sell them next spring. Two have very minor blemished on the very outside of the lip, probably wouldn't even see them unless looking. Perfect set for blacking out the lips. Other than that, they are pretty much perfect. I'll sell them for $350 picked up, saves you about $200 from new. I'm out near Joliet, IL. If your interested, I'll go take some pictures.

What type of paint did you use? How long did it take and what did you do to prep the rim if at all?
Also, was the tires off the rim when you did this?
I'm not sure if I should do the whole rim or just the polished lip.

CCWs are beautiful, and you pay for this beauty. Black or not, but I do agree if I was paying for CCWs I would not get them black for the same reason.

dont remember exact color name or what but, I used Dupli color rattle cans I primered them first and then a couple coats of gunmetal, then a bunch of coats of clear, they came out kind of rough cause the gunmetal color was a metallic and it was kinda flaky? so yeah, came out a little rough but still looked good. got rid of the wheels cause i got bored of them.. eh
oh, and the tires were still on, all i did was get index cards and placed them between the lip and the tire..

Gotcha, Yeah I seen the index card trick done before and plan on doing the same lol
I just wonder if I should plasti-dip it before I have the tires mounted because I dont want them to mess up the lip putting the tires on the rims. I also don't know if the rims will look good with the lip plasti-dipped and the rest of the rim being the gloss black.
decisions, decisions.

i say just do the whole rim. and i dont think you gotta worry about mounting and dismounting the tire once the wheels are painted. I had gotten a nail in one of my tires and took it to my cousins shop and got it fixed. no chips or anything
