Default Tire choice?

Im debating between falken ziex ze 512 in 275/40/17 or nitto nt555 extremes and wondering which would be better for me? I dont race the car i just drive my car to school back and forth and thats pretty much it. I want something thats good for the price and i do care about longetivity and tire noise. So which of the two would you get ? I am getting them from discounttire and these are just for the 2 in the front because i have tires for the back already . The price is 348.37 out the door for the falkens and 410.33 for the nitto and this is with the certificates included. I dont know if the certificates are worth it or not so if you have experience buying from discounttire please chime in. Thanks for reading

What do you have on the rears atm? If its a daily driver I suggest matching all the way around for tread pattern or it can cause some funky handling in heavy rain and/or snow.

I would never buy a 512. They will edge wear in no time. I have 555s on the front right now with 14k miles still have 7-8/32nds. no complaints

I have 555s on my Formula, fairly happy with them. They seem to be pretty decent in the rain and they're not real noisy.

Spot on!
elis94camaro, if you want longevity and quiet you don't want to 'mix and match'. You will be quite surprised how different the car responds and handles.

first off, there's no such thing as a "Nitto NT555 Extreme". it's just "Nitto NT555".

Brand: Nitto
Model: NT555
Description: Extreme Performance

with that out of the way, i would definitely go with the Nitto's over the Falkens. i had the exact same size Falken Ziex ZE512's on my car just prior to getting the Nitto NT555's installed, and there's absolutely no comparison.

the Falken ZE512's are all-season tires, and the Nitto NT555's are Ultra-High Performance (i.e., "Extreme Performance") summer tires.

do yourself a HUUUUUUUGE favor and skip the Falkens.
