With prostars back in the day I ran 3.5" front runner with a 5/16 spacer and 15x10 rears with 7.5" backspacing.

This pic is old, but heres how that size looked.

The fronts did not stick out at all, they sat in a tiny bit, the spacer was needed to clear the front LS1 calipers. The rears were about flush with the top of the wheel well. Im not sure on fabbing. I ran 17x11 street wheels with a 315 tire so the rear wheel wells were already hammer tubbed and the bump stops cut off when I put the Welds on. With a 26x10.5 et drag I didnt have to do any further clearencing over the what was already done for the street wheels. If you didnt run as much of a backspace on the rears you could probably get by without any modifications, but then the wheels would stick out a bit. Also to run the Prostars in the back I had to grind off most of the fins on the stock rear calipers. Weld may have prostars now that are more friendly to the newer calipers, but when I ran them was back in the 00-02 time frame when they did not.
