Make up for heavy wheels
Just bought some new wheels and tires for my z. they are 17x9.5 z06 wheels with a 275/40r17 all around. 24 pounds each. I feel a better grip and handling over stock but i also feel a very noticeable difference from the added weight. kinda crazy, feels like I lost at least 10 hp.
is there anything you guys would recommend to improve the seat of the pants feel? It just feels like i don't accelerate as hard anymore...

Welcome to the world of spinning wheel mass affecting acceleration - been there myself...
There is a huge impact in adding or subtracting weight from a wheel/tire combo - each lb you reduce spinning is equivalent to 4 to 5lbs static weight. So if you added 25lbs in wheel and tire weight, it would affect the car similarly to adding 100 to 125lbs of dead weight.
One of my customers, a chumpcar racer running a 3rd gen, switched to our 20lbs wheels from his previous 34lb ones (same exact tires) and told me that the car felt like it picked up 30 or 40hp just from that one change. He went on to dominate the race (by more than previously) due to the added acceleration and the increase in handling by adding 1.5" of wheel width (along with less unsprung weight).
What is the weight difference of the old wheel and tire combo to the new one?

Well I had stock 16x8s n there with some bald Daytonas. I believe the stock rim is no heavier than 18 pounds.. these new ones are 24... I can even feel it in my braking. Not too bad tho... Just bought a lid and filter and a catback. Going to gear and retune as well...

when i put my new ones on .. (actually same rims except 18's) but 10.5 in rear, i didnt feel a difference.. but im not near 375 hp either.. so i would def agree with your time for mods comment.. i also race with near an empty tank cause its approx 8lbs a gallon of gas.. so i also agree with you there..

At this point with the limited interest, probably next year. Problem is that I would have to order minimum 100 wheels (everything is in lots of 50) - 50 silver and 50 black along with more 3rd gen wheels in an order. I think so far, 4 or 5 4th gen folks have expressed interest at this point - which is not enough to pull the trigger.
