Default What size tire for Fikse 10.5 rims

So I bought a set of used Fikse FM10 17x9.5 17x10.5 I checked with Fikse who tell me the serial numbers are correct for a f body. The rears have Goodyear Ds G3 315 series.
The problem is they stick out too much, and are almost an inch past the fender. I want to order new tires just wondering what others have found that will fit and at least give me a chance to roll the fenders to get them to fit.
Would a 285 be wide enough for a 10.5 in rim?

You could probably fit 285's on a 10.5" wheel, but I always ran 315's on mine. Japanese tires seemed to run a little bit smaller than the European, and American tires with the same listed sizes.
