Default Stupid question regarding the spare

So my front tire decided it's time was up yesterday, luckily I was just pulling into a parking lot.
I jack the car up and go to put the spare on and it won't fit over the brakes. Stock brakes, just new pads and rotors.

Soooo....

Either the spare is supposed to go on one of the rears and you move the good rear to the front. Which seems like a lot of extra work.

Or I have the wrong spare. Which is possible, because I bought the car used.

So is the stock spare made to go on the front?

Sorry for dumb question, but thanks for the help.

Must be the wrong wheel because it should fit.

What he said. The stock spare is a 16 inch wheel and should clear the brakes just fine. Typically you don't want to put a donut spare on a drive wheel anyway if you can help it.

Kinda what I was thinking.

Thanks for the response.

No idea what I have, but I think I'll start looking for the correct spare.
