Default Can I move the 18x10.5 58mm offset up front and use smaller tires up there? and....

I've been running on the 18x10.5 315/30/18 with a 58 mm offset now for a few weeks. and I don't have any rubbing issue unless I cut a corn at like 60mph+ like under heavy load then I hear something that kinda sounds like grinding metal. I'm not quite sure what it is. Because I don't see any marking anywhere.

Will the 18x10.5 58mm wheels fit up front if I use a smaller tire?
I'm considering ordering another set of 18x10.5 with 50mm offset of like a 46mm offset..

I figured if I move the wheels(18x10.5 58mm offset) up front put on 295s then put new 18x10.5 with like a 46mm or 50mm offset and use my current 315's in the back that it would make them fit better. Am I right by assuming this?

It's going to be very tight up front, I have heard it done though.

I have put the OEM Z06 18's in front.
I was toying with the idea of 18's all the way around.
The tires were 295/35/18.
The only place they rubbed was at full lock when backing
out of a driveway or something. There was a wear
mark on the black inner fender liner at the very front
right in the middle. About half way from the outside
of the car to the inside. I would say about 8 inches in
from the outside of the car.

I drove with the 18's in front on freeway ramps at 55mph, which
is the max I can, if I go any faster, tires start to howl. Next
thing you know I would be in the ditch, but I keep it at 55 and
lower. I drove around like that fro 2 weeks. I drove my normal
routes(to and from work) in my normal manner. I also did some
EXTRA 'test' driving in a large parking lot. No cars around.
I did a "g" test. Just drove in a circle of about 100 feet diameter
and drove until I spun out. Both in a left hand circle and right hand
circle.

There was no rubbing at all. The only place there was
any mark was where I was describing it. I keep my car VERY
clean. there were no tire/rubber marks anywhere on the
"rear" part of the wheel well.

I wanted to do 295's all the way around so I could rotate the
tires to get a little more mileage out of them. But I soon
scrapped that idea once I did H/C and found out traction
is a problem. I will be getting Drag Radials when my rears
are wore out.

I have the OEM Z06 265/40/17 up front. I plan on keeping
it thant way.

I say you will be fine.

Howling, starting to lose traction that's all.
I was on an ON-RAMP. Those that are a "circle"
to go from a city road onto the expressway.
So I was in a turn entering the freeway.
Normal traffic on the ON-RAMP is 35mph.
That was my "test" for a high speed turn, that's all.

Nothing wrong with tires. I just wanted you to
know I was "pushing" the suspension, weight transfer, whatever
to see if the wheels would rub under "extreme" conditions.

I did NOT just bolt them on the front and drive 100 feet
down the road, then tell you they are fine on the front.
I drove them through a little bit of a "test course".

PM me if you want any more information.

thanks
