Default Someone gimme a few opinions here

I need a street or drag radial that can give me some good traction at the track cuz these 2.2 60s aint cuttin it. Its my only car but i only drive it about 50 or 60 miles per week. Since i have 17 inch wheels now do the radials have to be on a rim thats at least 17 inch too or what im saying is can i have a 16 inch wheel in the back and 17s up front for the track. What kinda radial do you guys think i should get? Im not making huge power but im making enough that im really spinning especially wit the 4.10s. I also just ordered long tube headers and y-pipe so its just gonna worse real soon.

For a street strip car in a case where the DRs will stay on all the time, Nittos seem to be the best bet for traction at the track as well as lasting during everyday driving. You CAN run a 16" on the rear for track purposes if you want, even on the street as well with the 17" in front. Just make sure the overall diameter of the tire is close. If you want all out traction and wind up getting a second set of wheels I'd say either the BFG DRs or the new(er) Mickey Thompson's.

Nitto 555r's or M/T drag radials should help your traction issue.

Is it ok to run 2 sets of tires like can i get some 555r in the back and then keep my eagle f1s up front until i need new ones? Also whats the widest i can go with the 555r on the stock 17 inch ws6 wheel?

Yeah you can run different tires in the front compared to the back. On your stock rim I'd say stick with the 275/40/17.

I agree with DopeFedZ, 275-40-17.
