Clear coat peeling off WS6 wheels?
My brother in law has a 97 WS6 and used the wrong kind of wheel cleaner. The clear coat is peeling off and Im wondering how to go about putting a coat of clear back on them?

Clean the wheel first with hot water and soap. Then take a wax a grease remover and wipe down the wheel. I've always used PPG products. Their wax and grease remover is DX-330. U can get it at your local NAPA store. Then wet sand the rim with 1000-1500 grit to give the new coat of clear something to stick to. Wipe down the wheel once again with the DX-330, let it dry for around 5 minutes and then apply your clear.

I think I'm going to strip the clearcoat off and polish them up and use zoops seal on them. Several people hear have stripped off the clearcoat to make them shiny, since the clearcoat dulls the finish. Just something to think about if yours is peeling off.
