Default 275/60/15's on 10" or 8" wide wheels?

Simple question, if I want to run some 275/60/15 MT drag radials, would I be better of running a 10" or 8" wide wheel. On the MT site, they have the specs measured on a 8" wheel but I'm not sure if that is considered optimal or not. If anyone can explain why either choice is better as well that would be appreciated.

BFG reccomends anywhere from a 7-11" wheel with thier 275/60/15 drag radial so I would think it would be okay. Anybody have any pics of this size tire on both the 10" and 8". I was wanting to run that tire with 15x10 Prostars with the 7.5" backsapcing, from what I've heard they tuck in a little better than the 8's.

My thinking is that if I can fit a 10" wheel, I'll have a wider contact patch. Does this sound correct?
