Default tire size question

i have a 98 m6 Z28 and i have the stock 16in. rims on it. i need to new tires to put on the rear and was wondering if 245/50Z16's would be wide enough.. im getting a great deal on them so thats why that size came up... when i say wide enough im talking about as far as they look will they be tacky?

The stock size comes in 235 or 245 so it'll look fine. If you can get a good deal on them, then I'd do it. Your not gonna be able to fit too big of a tire on an 8" rim anyway so I'd go for the 245's.
