Question 01 Zo6 with T/A Rims M/T 255/50/16 help

I put a set of M/T ET Streets 26X10.50-16 on my zo6. It was a nightmare. I just about killed myself. Any input on what would be a good replacement tire that can handle a 250 shot with mods, and not feel like I'm on snot?
I was told the M/T DR's 255/50-16 would hook pretty good and still have some sidewall. Also what is the largest tire that would fit on the T/A rims, bolted on a corvette?

255/50/16's ARE the biggest tire you can get on a 16" rim. What pressure were you running them at? I run 20psi hot in mine at the track and they hook great. They are a bit squirrely if you're trying to corner with them. That's why they're a pretty much strip only tire. I hate driving on them on the street compared to my Z rated street tires.

I dont' know any Vettes running them, just Camaro/Firebird/GTO guys. I think the best I've done was a 1.85 with them but my car still falls on it's face with them they stick so good.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll get a set and go gambling.
