Default Question on 18" TTII's

I'm thinking about ordering 18" TTII's for my 02 WS6. The front can only be ordered as an 18x8 and I am not sure how that will set as opposed to the 17x9. Will the inch narrower rim set the rim and tire in more from stock, or is the backspacing set to compensate for the difference?? Basically, I dont want the rims tucking under anymore. Also, would I need to drop down to a 265 tire rather than staying with the 275? Thanks for your help guys!

with an 8 inch rim you will have to do a 245/40/18.

When you order 18" TT2's you have to specify the backspacing because they are made to order. The backspacing you select, (within their acceptable ranges, click here) will determine how far in or out your wheels will sit in the wheel well. To figure out what backspacing would be ideal for 18x10 see some of the stickies at the top, cause im really not sure.

You should be able to fit 18x10's all the way around with the correct offset though... that would allow you to go with a 285/35/18 or something more in that range.

Here is a tire calculator you can use to help you select the correct size tire. You will also need to check the tire manufacturer's recommendations on rim width. You can see this at tirerack.com, find a tire in the size you want and then click on specs and you'll see rim width range information.
