Well in the process of getting tires for my SS this saturday 275/40/17..What tires will be better?? Not looking to empty my pocket in gettin tires...I dont drive high speeds or anything...Lookin at the Kumho ECSTA SPT V & W Rated or the sumitomo HTRZII........What tire is better out of these?? What does V & W rated mean on the Kumho? Help me out need good reliable and affordable tires...thx

I have the sumitomos for my 00 vert and the kumhos for my 98 and i prefer the sumitomos. My 00 has a looser suspension than the 98 so i cant judge the ride but as far as grip the sumitomos are good in and out of the rain. Better than the yokohamas I ran before, I havent tried the Kumhos in the rain yet. In the end both are good tires but based on time behind the wheel i would choose the sumitomos.

Have you tried going to tirerack.com, and looking at the reviews for each of the tires?
And remember, HTRZ2's do not come in 315-35-17, so if someone comes into this post bitching about how there 315's suck, wrong tire.
