Default Need Some Input

Heres the deal..I've got a 2000 Trans Am with 17" WS6 rims. I want the widest I can do on them and good quality being I'l he headin goff to college soon. What you guys think?

285 is fine, there are a ton of people that run 285/40/17 on stock 17x9 ss and ws6 wheels.
