Default Weld 5-star drag wheel question?

hey guys i have 97 SS Camaro, i wanna put on a set of 15x10 weld 5-star drag wheels on the back with a tire size 295/50/15, and 15x4's on the front,,,,when i put on the back wheels today they were against something inside the fender wheel looked like a block or something, and they were rubbing the caliper,,,,they were no where close to the fender lip,,,my question is if i use a 1/2 spacer wheel they clear that block and the caliper? and for those running weld 5-stars what size are they??

That "block" is probably the bump stop.. it has a rubber wedge on it correct?.. Someone might jump in and say cut it off.. don't do that. If it is rubbing the caliper you might have to file the caliper down just a LITTLE bit.

As far as the wheel spacer, which kind would you use?.. If you use a hub kind I would say thats okay, but I wouldn't reccomend a "shim" kind, unless you get longer studs.

Typical would be a 5/16 spacer, and yes you may have to grind the calipers a little but no where near what us LS1 guys have to do!! Bumpstop is what you are running into you can cut it down a little like stated in the prev post or take it out IMO I have had mine out for over a year no probs what so ever.
