If you narrowed 2.5 per side, you will need a 5.0 backspace. I had a previous Formula rearend narrowed 2.0 inches per side, ran a 5.5 backspace on a 10" wheel. Pics here: http://www.fquick.com/garages/Pontia...mula/1998/298/

thanks! i saw gator's car,https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...light=narrowed , and thought that running a 5.5'' b.s. with a 2.5'' narrowed rear would effectively be the same as a 3'' narrowed rear + a .5'' spacer?

Figure if we typically run 15x10 with 7.5 bs on a stock width rearend, then if you shorten the axle by 2" on a side that means your backspace on the wheel needs to change by 2" also. So, 15x10 7.5 bs becomes 15x10 5.5 bs

Simple math

While a 2" narrow/side with a 5.5" BS is common, some would like the wheels to set in farther (like me) to get the car lower. I recently had a conversation with Gator about this exact subject. If you do not mind extra cutting, you can run 2.5" to 3" narrowed per side with a 5.5" BS. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. Happy cutting.

Quick Reply: narrowed rear, 5.5'' b.s.
