Default KDW's or GS-D3?

I want to buy 275-40-17 tires for my 17 x 9 2002 Anniversary 10 spoke wheels and narrowed down the search to these two tires. I don't drive the car in the rain so wet traction is not a consideration. I also only drive it about 3-4K miles a year so I'm not worried about treadwear. I would like to get good straight line traction as well as great handling. My friend swears the KDW's hook better than Nitto DR's but I want to know how they stack up against the Goodyears. Thanks.

The "W" in KDW stands for wet. If you're not going to drive it in the rain, you want the KD, which is designed for maximum dry traction. And forget the GS-D3's, which also excel as a rain tire, albeit with good dry traction. Your choice should be between the KD's and DR's, and that will be a matter of whether handling or a straight line launch is more important to you.

I was torn between the KD and gs-d3 but i Just put gs-d3's on today. I am very happy with my decision, they hook and handle very good.

Cool

If $ is no object go with the best GS-D3.

BFG's KDW are an awesome tire as well, and a lot cheaper.

Go with the KD. It has better dry traction that the KDW and the GS-D3's, but still have much better rain qualities than a drag radial if you ever get caught in the rain.
