295 is as high as I would go on a 9.5", but technically it's fine...there are several cars (the Viper is one) that come with higher tire overhang from the factory.

Nope . . . 295's require 10" minimum wheel width . .

I cannot understand for one minute the point of disregarding manufacturer recomendations on tires, and wheel widths . . .

On a 9.5" wheel, 285mm would be ideal considering the factory puts a 275mm on a 9" wheel. The extra half inch is roughly 12.7mm wider, which would correlate to a 287.7mm tire, so a 295 isn't out of the question or 'crazy talk'.

Now people putting 315s on a 9" wide wheel is nutz.

If your car is lowered I would say you will have problems with the 45 on an 18...stick maybe ok.

Why would you run a 295/45ZR18 tire?? . . . that thing is 28.4" in diameter! Oh and OEM for a Ford F150 Lightning pick up truck . . .

Just go by the manufactor's recomendations

Looks like MT thinks it is ok to put a 295 on a 9.5" wheel

Yes you are right, but you are talking about a 295/40ZR17 . . . totally different animal than a 295/35ZR18 which is the tire this poster should be running . . .

Wheel Diameter affects fitment . . .

Go with 285's the 295's are just too wide for that rim. And when you compare them side by side they basically still give you the same foot print.

PS they are for sale. I since went up to 315's
