Default Drag tire on stock wheels

I have ws6 rims with 275 street tires on right now and I get very little traction.
I want to get a street drag tire and was planning on aftermarket wheels (10-11" wide) but I am now thinking about just keeping the wheels I have.
-What is the widest tire to fit on the stock ws6 wheel?
-And, will this get good traction, or am I better off with a wider wheel/tire combo??
Thanks...

Mickey Thompson Drag Radials in 275, they look wide, and you will hook. But sorry, they are on back order for like, 6 years. jk

Ok thanks.
I have 437rwhp and planning on 4.10 gears...the 275's should hook good?
Would there be much of a difference, or worth it to buy new rims, to go from 275 to 315 street drags?

The sidewall and stickyness will play a bigger part than overall width. Now if youre going to drive the car often i would go with a different rim and 315s because it will look much better but Im thinking your going to spin with 4.10s and that much power but you can always swap the gears out later. Theyre lots of guys running 255/50/16 mts on stock wheels and hooking.

275/40 mt's are your best bet
