Default pressure washing powdercoated wheels?

will this work? i have a pressure washer at my disposal, but i have never really used it myself. is this safe? i know the pressure washer has various settings, is this worth trying? will it strip the powder coating?

the wheels themselves seem to be "bleeding" some of the powder coating off on to the exterior lip of the wheel. i've tried polishing this crap off and have used several different chemicals, but its like they're stained now. any alternative suggestions? thanks guys!

That's not gonna strip powdercoating. You either need to get it burned off or use something like an aircraft grade chemical stripper, I've heard Zip Strip works well. I think powdercoating breaks down at like 600* or something crazy.

i appreciate the info fellas. reading my original post i guess i wasn't very clear... i DO NOT want to strip the powder coating. i am looking to clean off a residue/"stain" that has formed along the outer lip of the wheels that has proved resistant to polish and several types of chemicals. i was running out of ideas, so i thought i might try the pressure washer... i just wanted to be sure that it WOULD NOT strip the powder coating off the wheel before i tried it. sounds like it shouldn't so i think i'm going to give it a try.

As long as the powdercoat is not loose or chipped it won't hurt them.
