Default repaint or powdercoat vette magnesium wheels?

i just bought 4 18" vette magnesium wheels and they need to be refinished befor i install them due to chips around the edge from careless tire changes. what would be a better option, repaint them or powdercoat them. ive never had either finish on a wheel so i dont know witch one will be more durable. i mainly want to avoid the chips around the edge when having tires mounted.

Default

powdercoat will be much more durable. just make sure you strip the paint, then get the surface of the wheel perfect and clean before brining them in.
