I think that is a testing a design for the INSIDE of a proposed run flat tire . . .

Michelin's design on RF's sucks . . . the tire AND wheel is an assembly and cannot be serviced (yet) . . . . ask a sucker who bought a Honda Oddessey . . .

LOL.. +1..

And there's no way a tire like that would ever happen unless they put a cover on it. Mud, water, anything would throw that bad boy out of balance and there you'd be having to clean it out all the time or with shitty ride quality...

I had read somewhere a while back that the production models (if it made it that far!) would have sidewalls to prevent that, and for it to be more aesthetically pleasing.

I remember a special on TV about this design. They were calling it the "Tire for the Future" because it couldn't go flat and could be easily retreaded.

It is actually the tweel.

It is a new(old now) concept on how to build tires. The only thing that gets replaced when the tread wears out is the tread.

I post this about a year ago.

so instead of people slashing tires (which can just be patched alot of times and fixed) theyll be cutting the little spoke things, and theyre going to repair that how?

The PAX tires can be serviced and have been for at least a year now.
