Default SS chrome caps peeling

anyone else's peeling.
Seems that the clear coat has a hard time holding on to the chrome.
SLP sells them for 50.00 +
Oh well time to replace them.

Just strip the paint/clear coat if you dont mind the plain chrome look, you could always put vinyl decals on them later from bfranker.

Being the cheap bastard I am I picked up a set of "Adventure" chrome ZR1 centercaps off ebay to replace my Corvette emblem center caps for my chrome ZR1's. I stuck them in paint stripper and the clear coat and Adventure script silk screen came right off. After polishing them with chrome polish they look perfect and only cost me $10 for all four.

Here's a link to another set he has for sale if you don't want to mess with your originals http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ZR1-C...1.c0.m14.l1318

Yeah I was a bit suprised since I expected the silkscreen to be on "bare" chrome, but after letting them sit in stripper for a couple minutes the clear bubbled up and came right off.

Must be an SLP thing or something, the Corvette center caps that came with my chrome O E Concepts rims have no clear on the chrome.
